Céu + Zeep confirmed as the live acts for JungleDrums' 7th birthday celebrations!
In case you hadn't worked it out already, it's almost our birthday!!
This year we've got Céu, a beautiful and talented Brazilian diva, to sing us happy birthday.
Céu started her careeer in 2002, singing in bars in New York. Daughter of Brasilian maestro and songwriter Edgar Poças, she grew up with music and at age 15 decided it was what she wanted for her life.
In 2006, she was nominated for the Latin Grammy as Best New Artist and in the following year to the Grammy of Best Contemporary World Music Album.
Releasing her second album,
Vagarosa, after the highly praised debut
Céu, in 2005, the singer has already been called the new “MPB (Popular Brasilian Music) sweetheart”.
But that’s not all she plays; her music is influenced by jazz, reggae, samba and even rap. And her sweet, yet powerful voice makes a great bridge when she changes style. A show not to be missed!
Never party-shy, JungleDrums are planning a night to remember, at ULU in central London.
As well as the heavenly singer Céu, DJ Limao will be keeping the party going from the decks, and we've just confirmed a very special act - the Anglo-Brazilian duo Zeep will be joining us too!
