| FINDING THE STRENGTH TO MOVE FORWARD |
| Scenes of devestation have become painfully familiar in the media as we enter 2011 with severe flooding in Australia, and for Brazil the scene is yet bleaker, as the rainfall, floods and mudslides leave a death toll creeping towards 700 in Rio de Janeiro state. Relief, support, rescue attempts and donations are coming in thick and fast, and for UK residents wishing to make a donation the ABC Trust has set up a special website to do so. And amid all the commotion, plans for the Belo Monte hydroelectric power plant are making progress, but not without controversy, prompting a vast petition in an attempt to persuade Dilma otherwise. Get on board and do your bit. |
