SACRED – based at the Chelsea Theatre in London – is a seasonal event showcasing live art and contemporary performance throughout the year. This November there are bringing some Brazilian artists to our attention.
Renowned Brazilian dance artist Thelma Bonavita will be premiering her piece Eu Sou Uma Fruta Gogoia (I am a Gogoia Fruit) – inspired by Gal Costa’s famous folk song – in the UK on November 26th and 27th. Dorothy’s Shoes will pay homage to Brazil via their interactive world premiere of Flying Down To Rio on Friday 25th November, an installation / performance based around a ‘dancehall’ theme, offering a reflection on cultural tourism.
There will also be UK-based artists Martin O’Brien, Gillie Kleiman and Joseph Mercier in a show called Threesome, Bristol’s Action Hero with a London premiere of Frontman, Francesca Millican Slater and her postcard-based piece Me, Myself and Miss Gibbs and a number of other performances and installations.
