City of God @ London World Film Festival

Rio Film School are hosting the Brazilian night of the London World Film Festival, which means a screening of City of God as well as a Q+A with Leandro Firmino (aka Lil Ze from City of God) and a few other Brazilian short films too.

The evening of Brazilian film – which is the third night in the “Global Communities” focus of this year’s London World Film Festival – will look like this:

5.00pm: Screening of guest film from Cuba
6.15pm: Screening of three Rio Film School documentaries presented by Dorian Needs: Minha Onda (2011), Na sombra do Maracana (2011), Snapshots of Sexuality (2011)
7.30pm: City of God ten years on…. Cidade de Deus (dir. Fernando Meirelles): 116 mins
9.30pm: Q&A and roundtable with Leandro Firmino (actor, City of God), Luis Carlos Nascimento (Director, Cinema Nosso), Dorian Needs (Director, Rio Film School), Jonathan Romney (film critic, The Independent), and Chris Roberts (film critic, Uncut), chaired by Stephen M. Hart (UCL)
10:30pm: Reception and drinks in Bloomsbury Theatre bar
